CRISP

Glossary

CRISP™

Third Hemisphere™'s proprietary measure of how AI engines treat a company when buyers ask them for help. It scores five factors, and its name comes from their initials: Consensus, Reputation, Influence, Source, and Presence.

What it tells a buyer or a marketer

CRISP breaks one question, how do AI engines treat this company, into five that can each be measured and acted on. Consensus asks whether the engines agree. Reputation asks whether they speak in the company's favour. Influence asks whether trusted third parties back what is said. Source asks whether the company's own site can be read and trusted. Presence asks whether the engines bring the company up at all.

Each factor points at different work, so a marketer can see which one is holding a company back. The five are read together because one alone can mislead: a company can be named often and cautioned against, or praised in the few answers that reach it, and only the full set shows which.

How it appears on the AI Authority Index™

Every company on the Leaderboard is scored on all five factors, and carries a CRISP score built from them. Presence and Reputation also place the company on the Star Chart™. The free AI Authority Check™ and the AI Authority Blueprint™ score the same five factors, so the three products read a company one way.

Every published reading carries its sample size, and a number with too little evidence behind it is labelled as such.

What moves it

Each factor moves with its own evidence: the engines' answers for Consensus, Reputation, and Presence, the sources those answers cite for Influence, and the company's own site for Source. The CRISP methodology page states how a run is collected and scored, and lists every source the method is built from.

Related terms

Each factor has its own page in this glossary. Together they make the CRISP score, and two of them place a company on the Star Chart: Presence across and Reputation up. The AI Authority Index, the free AI Authority Check, and the AI Authority Blueprint all read a company on CRISP.
