CRISP™ score
A company's overall score out of 100, built from its five factor scores at the weights the Method shows. On the Index, only a company with all five factors measured carries one.
What it tells a buyer or a marketer
The CRISP score sums up, in one number out of 100, how AI engines treat a company across all five factors. It is useful for tracking a company over time and for comparing it with others in the same market, read on the same instrument.
Two companies with the same score can still need different work. One may be named often and cautioned against, the other rarely named and well spoken of, which is why the Index places companies on the Star Chart™ as well as scoring them.
How it appears on the AI Authority Index™
On the Index, only a company with all five factors measured carries a CRISP score, so every company on the Leaderboard has one and no company Under the Radar does. Within each cell of the Star Chart, companies are listed by their CRISP score, with no position number. A score is never rebuilt from fewer than five factors.
The free AI Authority Check™ calls its total an Initial CRISP score when any factor is read indicatively, and a CRISP score when all five are measured.
What moves it
The score moves when its factors move, each at its own weight, which the CRISP methodology publishes. Improving the factor that is lowest, at a high weight, moves the score most.
The score is a summary. The five factor scores beside it show where the number comes from, and the free AI Authority Check and the Blueprint print the same five, so a company can see which factor to work on first.
Related terms
The CRISP score is also called the composite. It is carried by every company on the Leaderboard, and read beside the company's cell on the Star Chart. In the free AI Authority Check, a total with any factor read indicatively is an Initial CRISP score.

Questions
What is a good CRISP score?
A score is best read beside the other companies in the same market, measured on the same instrument, and with the company's cell on the Star Chart.
Why do some companies the Index lists have no CRISP score?
A company named in fewer than 30 answers is listed Under the Radar. Its sample is too small to measure all five factors, and no score is built from fewer.
Is the CRISP score the same as the composite?
Yes. Composite is another name for the CRISP score.
