OKX's AU launch faced regulator skepticism. Third Hemisphere positioned Kate Cooper as a credible voice on crypto and financial innovation, securing tier-one coverage.
The Challenge
When OKX launched in Australia, the crypto industry faced strong skepticism from regulators and local media. The sector lacked credible industry advocates and representation in tier-one financial media, limiting mainstream trust and awareness.
The challenge was to establish legitimacy for OKX in the Australian market and position its new CEO, Kate Cooper, as a credible voice in financial innovation and digital assets.
Our Strategy
Third Hemisphere implemented a strategic communications program designed to build credibility and increase visibility for OKX in Australia. The strategy focused on positioning Kate Cooper as a trusted executive voice on cryptocurrency, financial innovation, and regulation. This included securing high-impact tier-one media coverage, leveraging exclusive research and commentary to support broadcast interviews, placing strategic opinion pieces discussing the regulatory future of crypto, and aligning media engagement with key industry events to strengthen OKX’s presence in the Australian market
The Results
The campaign successfully elevated OKX’s profile in Australia’s financial and crypto sectors. The company secured front-page coverage in the Australian Financial Review, positioning OKX as a major player in the country’s digital asset ecosystem. Kate Cooper was featured in the AFR’s “Breakfast with the Boss,” strengthening her reputation as an influential executive voice. Additional visibility was generated through broadcast interviews on Ausbiz and Ticker TV. A strategic opinion piece was also published in the Gold Coast Bulletin discussing the regulatory future of cryptocurrency in Australia. Overall, the campaign generated more than 150 pieces of media coverage and an estimated reach of over two million views between April and June 2025.
