Bricklet’s Shared Equity Platform Offers New Hope for Australian Homebuyers

Bricklet, an innovative shared equity homeownership platform backed by venture firm Lakeba, is emerging as a potential solution to Australia’s housing affordability crisis.

 

Bricklet allows homebuyers to own up to 80% of a property, with the remaining 20% owned by investors, significantly reducing the deposit burden. With support from major backers like Mirvac and Stockland, and a growing waitlist of over 1,150 customers representing $174 million in shared equity support,

 

Bricklet is poised to expand. The platform, founded in 2019, has already assisted in the settlement of about 30 properties. CEO Darren Younger aims to secure $100 million in funding within the next 12 months to continue growing. Bricklet’s concept could alleviate the challenges many Australians face when trying to enter the property market.
