Wimp 2 Warrior Appoints Angus Benbow as Co-CEO and CRO

 

Sydney, Friday 8 July: Global Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) gym tech company Wimp 2 Warrior (W2W) has appointed ex-CEO of both Thorney Investments-backed Centrepoint Alliance (ASX:CAF) and Shadforth Financial Group, Angus Benbow, to lead the business as co-CEO and CRO.

 

Mr. Benbow will take over the management and running of W2W globally, splitting responsibilities with concurrent CEO and co-founder Nick Langton across capital programs, strategy, investor relations, and W2W’s global technology rollout.

 

Mr. Benbow’s time at the helm of listed financial services company Centrepoint Alliance saw him grow fee-for-service revenue by over 100 per cent, invest in a new data and technology platform, and oversee the acquisition of a leading advice technology firm.

 

At wealth advice and portfolio management business Shadforth Financial Group, he was responsible for 400 staff and ~$15 billion in Funds Under Advice (FUA).

 

He also held executive roles at News Corp Australia, ASX-listed wealth manager Perpetual, global management consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, and began his career as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy. Here he began as a helicopter pilot and ended as a deputy director responsible for oversight of costing data and technology of a multi-billion annual operational budget.

Mr. Benbow’s appointment follows other recent high-level hires including veteran MMA executive Rich Chou as VP of North America, and James Fleet as chief technology officer.

 

W2W also recently closed an oversubscribed $7.5 millionto roll out an online training delivery platform across 140+ participating gyms across 9 countries, soon becoming available to millions of members and ultimately any MMA gym in the world.
