Rebranding a future climate tech industry leader
Situation
HydGene Renewables is an Australian company that developed an alternative green hydrogen solution. It had just raised its first external capital; $6 million from Australia’s biggest and most active climate tech venture capital firm, Virescent Ventures.
As is the case with almost all bootstrapped companies, they desperately needed a professionally-designed brand and new website, and still on a tight budget.
Action
The first step in the production of a high-quality brand is to survey key stakeholders, which we call a Perception Audit. HydGene’s Perception Audit was the first time the founders had received in-depth and invaluable feedback about their brand and company from investors, staff, and cofounders.
We then synthesised these insights to write, design, and produce a brand mood board, brand strategy, new logo, brand guidelines, and a sexy new website. We also set up the website on a new content management system and provided template documents so the team could run with the brand without any additional cost.
Results
HydGene were ecstatic with the strategy, brand, website, and collateral. This was a rare opportunity to align a new set of very important stakeholders on the current and future vision and present themselves as a venture-funded and professional future industry leader.
