The Challenge
Australia’s deep tech sector includes highly technical startups, incubators, and research commercialization programs that often struggle to translate complex science and engineering breakthroughs into clear media narratives. Innovation hubs and early-stage ventures required strategic communications support to build national visibility, attract investors, and position Australia’s emerging deep tech ecosystem within business and technology media.
Our Strategy
Third Hemisphere worked alongside leading incubators, venture groups, and innovation hubs to build the communications profile of Australia’s deep tech ecosystem. The team supported organizations including Cicada Innovations, the National Space Industry Hub, and Scalara Partners through strategic media engagement, program launches, and founder media training. This included preparing 23 deep tech startups for media engagement through Cicada x Tech23 events while promoting major incubator initiatives such as the Jumar Bioincubator and Cicada HealthTech Hub.
The Results
The communications program helped elevate the national profile of Australia’s deep tech sector, securing coverage across major business, startup, and innovation publications. Incubator launches, accelerator programs, and startup cohorts received sustained media attention, helping position key ecosystem players as leaders in science commercialization and deep technology innovation. The work contributed to stronger visibility for emerging startups while reinforcing Australia’s reputation as a growing hub for deep tech research and entrepreneurship.
